Three stages of a jagua tattoo on a chest: fresh paste, faded after 1 hour, developed after 24 hours. Text: Jagua Tattoo Formation.

📋 1. Things You Need to Do

First 2–4 Hours (Gel Still On):

  • 🕒 Leave the gel undisturbed for at least 2–4 hours (longer = darker stain).

  • 🙌 Keep the area still — no rubbing, scratching, or touching.

  • 🌬️ Let the gel dry naturally; avoid smudging on clothes or furniture.

After Gel is Dry:

  • 🧹 Gently flake or brush off the dried gel (do not wash with soap).

  • 🚱 Keep the area dry for 12 more hours after removing the gel.

  • 🌙 Sleep carefully — avoid sweating or rubbing on bed sheets.

After 12–24 Hours:

  • 💧 You may rinse with water (no soap yet).

  • 🧴 Apply a thin layer of gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer.

  • 😃 Relax and watch your tattoo darken over the next 1–2 days.

🚫 2. Things to Avoid (0–48 Hours)

  • 🚿 No long showers or swimming — brief rinse only after 12 hours.

  • 🧽 No scrubbing, exfoliating, or soap on the area.

  • 🏋️ No heavy sweating, gym, or saunas for 24 hours.

  • ☀️ Avoid sun exposure — UV can lighten the stain.

  • 👕 Avoid tight clothing or friction over the design.

⚠️ 3. Watch for ComplicationsContact your artist if you see:

  • Severe itching, rash, or swelling (possible allergy).

  • Redness spreading beyond the tattoo area.

  • Blistering or burning sensation.

4. Development Timeline

  • Hours 0–12: Gel dries, skin feels tight.

  • Hours 12–24: Stain is very light or invisible — normal!

  • Day 2: Color darkens to deep blue-black.

  • Days 3–7: Richest color — enjoy your tattoo!

  • Days 8–14: Tattoo slowly fades as skin exfoliates.

🌿 5. Why People Love Jagua Tattoo
